Queen
「皇后合唱團Queen」於1973年出道，其獨一無二的華麗風格，震撼力十足的嗓音，歌劇般的演繹方式開啟了搖滾的新風貌。
不同於當時普遍都有濃濃藍調色彩的搖滾樂，Queen在他們的曲風加入了歌劇、民謠、福音這些元素，並在打扮上帶有些許的華麗搖滾色彩。而其壯麗的和聲是Queen的一大特色。他們被視為前衛搖滾、硬式搖滾及重金屬的先驅。而眾多的一線音樂家也承認他們的音樂多少都有受到Queen的影響，這些音樂家包括了: Green Day、Guns N'Roses、Metallica、Lady Gaga、Robbie Williams、Radiohead、Steve Vai等。他們現場獨樹一格的演出方式結合了搖滾樂與音樂劇般的變化，以及主唱Freddie的穿著裝扮，以現今的標準來看也是震撼力十足。Queen於21世紀光榮登上「搖滾名人殿堂Rock'n Roll Hall Of Fame」、「好萊塢星光大道Walk Of Fame」、以及「創作名人堂Songwriters Hall Of Fame」，而Freddie Mercury更成為了流行文化指標之一。
什麼是華麗搖滾(Glam Rock)？
1970年代初期在英國竄起的一種搖滾及流行視覺風格。以音樂風格來說華麗搖滾沒有特定走向，從簡單的Rock ‘n Roll到複雜的爵士古典搖滾樂團都有。視覺上來說則也是包含各種風格，從古世紀到科幻裝扮，但共通點是從髮型、化妝、到服裝都是非常誇張且戲劇性的。除了這些外性別模糊的裝扮更是他們不可或缺的元素。

這張精選輯為Queen成軍十周年紀念版，原於1981年推出，並於2011年數位重製發行。收錄了Queen最為耳詳能熟17首歌，包含了全民開唱的“We Will Rock You”及“We Are The Champions”。而“Bohemian Rhapsody”更霸佔了英國金榜9週冠軍，一首歌裡完美結合了抒情，歌劇，吉他solo以及硬式搖滾，更因此被譽為最精緻的歌曲之一。
