Charlie Parker
Charlie Parker是在40~50年代具有重大影響力的爵士薩克斯風手兼作曲家，綽號Yardbird或Bird。Parker非常熱衷於練習，有一段時期一天更可練到15個小時。他被視為是促進Bepop發展的重要人物之一(一種爵士類型，以快節奏+演奏技巧為重點並以即興發揮為特色所組成)。Parker帶來了革新的和音概念，包含了急性的經過和弦，更多變音和弦的變化，以及更多的替換和弦。他在許多專輯裡展示了卓越的演奏技巧以及複雜的旋律，有時更會與其他樂風作結合，包括了藍調、拉丁、及古典等等。他的出現也定義了爵士樂手堅定及聰穎的形象，而非單純的娛樂家。因他生前還沒有葛萊美獎，之後才被追頒了許多遲來的獎項以紀念Charlie Parker對音樂的貢獻及影響，包含了終生成就獎，最佳獨奏樂手表現，以及名人堂等獎項。
